ApconiX Welcomes Dr Laurence Bishop

ApconiX is delighted to welcome Dr Laurence Bishop to the team as our Head of Business Development.  Laurence is an experienced DMPK and toxicological scientist with 20 years’ experience of nonclinical drug development.  Specialising in business development for the past 13 years, we are looking forward to Laurence playing a key role in our growth strategy.

Laurence graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Chemistry and Pharmacology and continued at the University, carrying out research for his PhD in Pharmacology.  He joined Covance Laboratories as a DMPK Study Director before moving to AstraZeneca in a similar role.  Returning to Covance laboratories as a Client Manager in Safety Assessment, Laurence then became part of the Business Development team at Sequani in 2013.

“I am looking forward to using my skills, knowledge and experience of bespoke nonclinical services to support ApconiX’s existing and future customers, and in delivering ApconiX’s growth ambitions. My strong scientific educational background and life long passion for science is an excellent fit for the team of nonclinical safety experts at ApconiX”, commented Laurence, “I’m relishing the new challenge and the opportunity to be working with a great team of people, some of whom I know very well”.

Laurence is keen on most outdoor sports including kayaking and sailing and is currently working on his black belt grading in Shotokan karate.

Dr Richard Knight, Director and Co-founder of ApconiX added, “Although we won’t be able to see much of Laurence in person for a while, we are very excited about working with him.  We have great plans for the company and know Laurence is just the person to help us achieve them”.
